What I learned about them since they arrived: It seems to work to get their thoughts onto manual labor, but they do deserve a bit of a break. Sawneeks and Manik have been doing overtime with their workshop tasks, wood cutting, mining and herding the animals back to the pasture. I cant decide if this is unfortunate or most unfortunate timing, but I'll greet our new visitors and see how we can split up the work. We have rectified this with a meeting area she could visit soon after. We wondered, why she didnt come in when it annoys her so, but she was adamant about not sleeping in a place of work. do think we got a bit carried away with the mining planning though as we are all so focussed on mining and hauling, that we forgot to set up the most basic of areas in our fortress until Manik got caught in the rain. The others all seem to be content to continue the work on our plans Other than that, she is itching for our preparations to be finished on the farm, so she can start working on our crops. She seems to dwelling on that regularly, adding to her annoyance about it. Zashga has been hit the hardest by our decision not to get mugs for dwarvenproper drinking sessions. Toma and Manik have the same tendencies, we really should remember to keep them busy, until we have some more amenities set up to ease their thoughts a little. I think this might be the best for all sides currently, considering she does seem to have an edge trying to cause a fight and trouble with the other dwarves occasionally. Bear Patrol is holding up surprisingly well honestly, being incredibly euphoric about the work, as it seems to be the only thing she talks about constantly.Īs for the others: SaberVS7 is pretty much out all the time, fishing on her own. Inspired from the grand halls of Rubmetals, we started building the main entrance halls in large open and interconnected rooms, hoping to eventually capture the splendor of the most beautiful of dwarven fortresses. With 3 dwarves, it was much easier to clear out the first cavern areas. We had 2 spare pickaxes with us, and I think it was a good idea to get the dwarves, especially Bear Patrol thinking of other thoughts while working out their brains. I'm also gonna create a backup of the file because I could see an update resetting it to defaults. I think that's most of the ones I hit, the bottom half of the text file is pretty much all adventure mode stuff and plenty of events do have autopause alerts set up like if a megabeast showed up. Like most of these there are a few related entries directly beneath to effect when they claim a workshop or finish the artifact There are like 6 of these covering kidnappings and ambushes as well There doesn't seem to be a perfect solution for pausing when combat is initiated yet. But in my early hours it worked when one of my dwarves got into combat as well as when a trade caravan got into a fight on the way to my entrance.ĮDIT: after testing this one can become annoying once you get your military running, if dwarves spar with each other they have a tendancy to charge repeatedly. I haven't tested this on a large scale battle so it might pause too much if you had say several dwarfs attacking a superbeast. I've pretty much just added ":BOX:R:P" to every one I changed although all three aren't always necessary, or some may want to add ALERT to get that red box in the top left for example. I'll paste the entries as they come out of the box. I'll list off that other entries that I thought needed to be fixed. *(make sure that's D_MIGRANT, there's also an entry that doesn't have the D, that's for Non-Dwarf migrants) I went ahead and did the same for the 3 D_Migrant tags below that which cover a single migrant, no migrants and migration 'discouraged' Yes, so the most important ones for me were Migrants arriving and battles starting.įor the migrants you want to find since I want an alert box in the middle of the screen, the game to autopause and also to zoom to where the migrants are arriving i'll append ":BOX:R:P" to that entry eg. ![]()
